Pretty sure USPS lost my car's PCM in the mail. 2-day shipping and it's still not where it was going. Need to find the receipt to get a tracking number but... if that thing's lost I'm pretty well screwed due to PCM locking. I'd have to buy one from eBay, then pay $100 for a credit, go to my friend's, and re-tune it myself for my VIN hoping that it will be accepted during a CASE learn. Ugh.

USPS is not that great, but they've never outright lost one of my packages. Find the receipt and go to your local store, keep your cool, and just say that it's really important. They'll figure out where it is, just be patient with them.
About a CASE learn, even worst case, I'm not sure if that will work. I'm well aware of the PCM locking (two chryslers with very similar keys in my house), but I don't know if a CASE learn will re-write the VIN on them.

I've started going exclusively Fed Ex or UPS for anything important.
A typical USPS "tracking" system experience goes like this.
10/10/2013 12:37pm.. We heard a rumour that you shipped a package.
10/10/2013 12:39pm.. Your package may or may not have entered sorting facility.
(On 10/18/2013 My package actually gets delivered.)
10/20/2013 1:15am.. We heard a rumor that your package may have been delivered.

They just took 5 days to deliver a 2 day package. The week before that I shipped a priority mail box 2 states away, no tracking updates for over a week (including even receiving it) and suddenly it was delivered. I almost only use Priority mail with them and they are actually usually fairly speedy with it, and have never completely lost anything, but they are unpredictable.

I would have to re-write the VIN myself, but even with matching VINs a CASE learn is necessary. According to USPS (just found the receipt at my mom's house) the PCM was delivered, but ZZP says they don't have it. The mystery deepens :/

From what I've heard from ex-USPS and ex-UPS workers, USPS is actually way better now because of the pressure they're under. I've had much worse times with FedEx than I have with USPS (packages smashed, only half of the package arrives, etc.).

Yeah this was sent via Priority Mail 2-Day for $15.80 and according to their tracking info it got there after two days, but ZZP says they don't have it... I just hope it's a simple fix.
